Take a full day trip with our catamaran boat to Symi island and arrive first of all other boats. The island is famous for colorful neo-classical house facades, charming fishermen boats, sponge diving traditions and delicious sea food.
Be picked up from your hotel or the nearest pickup location and be brought to the port, where you will receive your boarding card and tips for the day.
It takes approximately 1,45 hours to reach the island of Symi. You can sit on the deck or inside, wherever you feel is most comfortable.
First stop is the Holy Monastery of Archangel Michael of PANORMITIS. As you approach the Monastery, you will hear Church bells ringing, warmly welcoming all the pilgrims, explorers, holidaymakers & curious travelers. The Holy Monastery is a treasury of the Greek-Orthodox culture. The contemporary church was built in 1783 and hosts the miraculous all silver-plated icon of Archangel Michael. The main architectural feature of the Monastery is an impressive bell tower, a mixture of Baroque and Renaissance styles. The monastery also houses two museums with a large collection of ecclesiastical art, icons, ship model offerings and important objects of the island’s folk culture. Admire the 18th c. wall paintings, light a candle for good luck and walk around to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this holy place.
Next stop is at St. George Bay for photos.
Entering the little harbour of Symi you will be amazed by the colourful houses and many private sailing boats and yachts. You will have free time for your visit. Symi village is full of beautiful, neo-classical mansions, folk and art shops, many cafeterias, hospitable taverns and stalls with sponges and wooden carvings.
Feel the authentic atmosphere, have a casual walk through the port, get the fun train for a great drive through Symi town, go for a swim or enjoy a nice meal in one of the many sea-front taverns.
At the end the Boat will bring you back to Rhodes harbor.
